Something that I observe daily in my community is the amount of garbage that is produced and sadly ends up in lakes, rivers, etc. We are a country that lives and feeds on what is sold on the street, snacks are found in all streets, markets, groceries. All stalls, businesses if not all, most produce an immense amount of garbage, disposables, napkins that take up too much water to produce, straws that cause immense damage to the turtles.
These damages are not known or perhaps they are and end up being ignored by the owners of those businesses, but each waste that is produced ends up affecting us and will continue to do so if awareness is not begun. We have only 7 years before the change is irreversible and climate change affects us and the world. If we all did our own part, (we carry our own tuppers, bottles, bags, and straws in the car) the waste would be less, if each person did it, the change would be for the better.
It is only a matter of them realizing what is happening and hoping that they do not do it late so that we have the opportunity to swim in uncontaminated rivers. Let’s raise awareness now that we have a little time left to make a change
